Taboo Muskoka is seeking an experienced and service-driven Food & Beverage Supervisor to join our team at The Boathouse Restaurant in Gravenhurst.

Assisting the Food & Beverage Manager and Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, you will supervise & lead front of house staff to provide guests with professional, personable, knowledgeable and efficient service. 

This is a full-time, 6-month position running from April through the end of October 2026.  Staff housing is available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Orchestrate set-up, mise en place, meeting rooms and the bar for service
  • Organize reservations, room setups, and server sections for shift
  • Maintain food and beverage inventory, including counts and spillage sheets
  • Assist the Food and Beverage Manager and Assistant Food & Beverage Manager with Boathouse and event operations, as directed, pertaining to food and beverage requirements
  • Responsible for forecasting and managing daily staffing levels to ensure adequate staffing for all events and daily operations
  • Accountable for the performance, conduct, discipline and deportment of food and beverage staff.
  • Counsel staff regarding performance issues in accordance with SOP’s and HR procedures
  • Accountable for adherence to all food and beverage procedures and policies
  • Greet guests, present menus, inform them of any features or specials, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding food and beverage items
  • Engage, converse and interact with guests in a positive, friendly, professional, courteous and respectful manner at all times
  • Ensure food and beverage servers are taking orders in a timely fashion and communicate with the Executive Chef regarding reservations and guest numbers
  • Ensure that all rooms and Boathouse patio are closed properly and cleaned and stocked for next shift.
  • Ensure that staff clock out immediately after their cash-out is printed. Collect daily paperwork, cash-outs, and accounting forms and deliver them to front desk, and/or safe deposit
  • Ensure that all closing procedures are completed, including turning off lights and music, and ensuring the Boathouse is fully secured

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in fine dining an asset
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Ontario Smart Serve certification
  • Food Handler certification an asset but not required
  • First Aid/CPR certification an asset but not required

 Work Arrangement:

  • Work both indoors and outdoors during spring, summer, and fall weather conditions, including on the covered patio, dining room and conference rooms
  • Moving furniture when preparing special arrangements
  • Walking, bending, and carrying glassware, plates, glass racks, large platters, and chafing dishes
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Extended periods of standing
  • Must be willing to work varied shifts, including, mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Compensation:

  • Pay: $48,000
