Taboo Muskoka is seeking a confident and hands-on Recreation Supervisor to join our team in Gravenhurst.

In this supervisory position, you will assist guests with recreation needs and requests including leading guest activities, issuing equipment rentals, and maintaining the cleanliness and proper working order of the Recreation building and Adventure Centre, pool areas, tennis courts, beach area, etc. You will assist the Director of Recreation and Recreation Manager in creating programming and planning the recreation activities for resort leisure and corporate guests, and you will take an active role in directing and assisting staff during daily operations.       

This full-time position starts April 13, 2026, through to the end of October 2026. Staff housing is available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of Recreation staff and their duties.
  • Assist with scheduling, training and communicating with Recreation staff as needed.
  • Assist the Director of Recreation with recreation program development and implementation.
  • Encourage, recruit, register and schedule guests to participate in recreation activities.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of all dates, times, pricing and descriptions of all resort activities, and events offered, as well as those offered off property.
  • Oversee the successful operation of our recreation programming including hiking, mountain biking, pickleball, tennis, kids programming, bonfires, special events etc.
  • Promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere and communicate applicable rules and regulations.
  • Possess a clear understanding of all operations and procedures that take place at the Recreation/Adventure Centre desk, including but not limited to taking and verifying guest activity reservations, issuing and filing liability waivers, and verifying guest room and other guest information.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports and other required resort documentation.
  • Collect used/soiled pool and beach towels.
  • Fold and replenish clean pool and beach towels.
  • Ability to clearly understand resort trails and locations.
  • Ability to clearly understand and perform cash, credit/debit transactions.
  • Ability to use creativity and quick thinking to handle and accommodate rare or difficult. guest requests.
  • Promote and sell retail items.
  • Ability to effectively to record and distribute departmental communication to other resort outlets, specifically Front Desk/Guest Services.
  • Open and close the recreation office and building.
  • Clean recreation areas, keeping equipment organized.
  • Ensure equipment is in good condition and good repair.
  • Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and the public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying your manager.
  • Inspects and performs light maintenance.
  • Problem-solve on the spot.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or required

Qualifications: 

  • Valid Ontario G class Driver’s License.
  • Certified in Standard First Aid with CPR-C (or willing to obtain).
  • Completion of high school or equivalent – Minimum age 18
  • Dynamic and positive personality interested in working with families with young children.
  • Previous guest service experience is an asset.
  • Experience in handling cash, credit, and debit transactions.
  • Must have experience supervising and training staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills such as empathy, appreciation, collaborative thinking, active listening skills, and work ethic.

Work Arrangement:

  • Indoor and outdoor environments: trails, water, heat, cold, dirt, bugs, rain.
  • Depending on the day and weather conditions of the job will change, long exposure isn’t consistent but at times is needed.
  • Ability to lift upwards of 50 pounds, carrying ice buckets or pieces of firewood. This would be less than 20% of the time. Most lifting is with another person and transport is usually done by golf cart
  • Ability to lead and participate in physical activities, such as, but not limited to hiking, biking, and tennis.
  • Bending, twisting, crouching, using hand, arm, leg, and back muscles for cleaning, folding towels and distributing rental equipment.

Compensation: 

  • Pay: $22.50 per hour
