Taboo Muskoka is seeking reliable and detail-oriented Support Attendants to join our team in Gravenhurst.
The Housekeeping Department is the heart of the hotel and is responsible for the cleanliness and aesthetic upkeep of rooms, public areas, and the property. No level of service, friendliness or glamour can equal the sensation a guest feels upon entering a spotless, tidy and fresh space. We are building our Housekeeping Team to ensure the heart keeps beating!
Full-time and part-time positions are available, with various start and end dates ranging from June through October. Staff housing is available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stripping beds and organizing and arranging linens for bed-making.
- Making beds to the highest standard, eliminating all imperfections and wrinkles from the linens.
- Cleaning and removing all cobwebs and debris from balconies and decks.
- Washing windows, patio doors, and deck railing glass panels.
- Removing all garbage in all assigned guest rooms/ condos, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation levels meet resort standards.
- Cleaning and organizing carts or caddies with daily supplies at beginning of each shift and removing or restocking items at the end of shift.
- Care and control of all equipment used throughout the day, such as vacuums, and steamers, and or carts.
- Identifying health and safety risks and preventing injury while working by following WHMIS protocols.
- Cleaning the inside and outside surfaces of the BBQ and cleaning all grills.
- Acting as a linen and supply runner, including delivery and pick-up of all Housekeeping-related materials. This includes loading and unloading of the dishwasher and dispensing glassware to carts or closets, as well as ensuring all laundry that is brought to the laundry room is sorted and placed in designated areas.
- Packing and unpacking condo linen bags.
- Delivering and picking up all guest-related items, including cots, cribs, bed rails, extra linens, supplies and glassware.
- Ability to push fully loaded bins up and down hills in outdoor environments.
- Stocking all linens and supplies thorough the resort.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write English at a high school level.
- Knowledge of the hotel property, facilities, history, and region is an asset.
- Knowledge of how to safely use cleaning equipment, supplies, and chemicals is an asset.
- Understanding of WHIMIS health and safety requirements and proper use of PPE is an asset.
Work Assignment:
- Support Attendants are required to work both indoors and outdoors in all areas of the resort, concentrating on guest rooms/condos.
- Will be exposed and expected to work in dirty and dusty conditions.
- Position requires being on your feet for the entire shift.
- Must be in good physical condition to perform extensive walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, and stretching.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and push carts loaded with linen and supplies weighing up to 100 pounds. Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 25% of the time.
- Ability to climb flights of stairs while carrying linen, supplies, and/or garbage that may exceed 25 pounds.
Compensation:
- Pay Range: $19.00 to $20.00 per hour (based on experience)
