Taboo Muskoka is seeking reliable and detail-oriented Room Attendants to join our team in Gravenhurst.
The Housekeeping Department is the heart of the hotel and is responsible for the cleanliness and aesthetic upkeep of rooms, public areas, and the property. No level of service, friendliness or glamour can equal the sensation a guest feels upon entering a spotless, tidy, and fresh space. We are building our Housekeeping Team to ensure the heart keeps beating!
Full-time and part-time positions are available, with various start and end dates ranging from mid May and June through the end of October. Staff housing is available.
Key Responsibilities:
Productivity & Performance Expectations
Productivity expectations may fluctuate based on occupancy, room conditions, weather-related factors, and special guest requests.
Room Attendants (1 person):
- 9 check-out resort rooms per shift
- 16 stayover resort rooms per shift
Condo Attendants (Team of 2):
- 5 check-out condos per shift (team)
- 8 stayover condos per shift (team)
Cleaning & Operational Responsibilities
- Clean all assigned guest rooms and condos to ensure standards are consistently met
- Make beds to a high standard, eliminating wrinkles and imperfections in linens
- Clean balconies, decks, patios, windows, patio doors, and deck railing panels
- Remove garbage and maintain high sanitation standards
- Clean and sanitize BBQs (inside, outside, and grill surfaces)
- Load and unload dishwashers as required
- Pack and unpack condo bags efficiently and accurately
- Count and verify inventory; replace missing or damaged items as needed
- Sort and place used linens in designated laundry areas
- Maintain assigned areas including hallways, condo pathways, and surrounding grounds
- Organize, stock, and maintain cleaning carts and equipment
- Safely push fully loaded bins in an outdoor environment
Health, Safety & Professional Standards
- Follow WHMIS protocols and use appropriate PPE
- Identify and report workplace hazards or safety concerns
- Properly care for all cleaning equipment
- Adhere to all resort hygiene and grooming policies
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write English at a high school level.
- Knowledge of hotel property, facilities, history, and the region is an asset.
- Knowledge of how to safely use cleaning equipment, supplies, and chemicals is an asset.
- Understanding of WHIMIS health and safety requirements and proper use of PPE is an asset.
Work Arrangement:
- Room attendants are required to be inside and outside on regular basis and will need to be able to adapt to environment changes at all times.
- Will be exposed and expected to work in dirty and dusty conditions.
- Position requires being on your feet for the entire shift.
- Must be in good physical condition to perform extensive walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, and stretching.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and push carts loaded with linen and supplies weighing up to 100 pounds. Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 25% of the time.
- Ability to climb flights of stairs while carrying linen, supplies, and or garbage that may exceed 25 pounds.
Compensation:
- Pay Range: $19.00 to $20.00 per hour (based on experience)
