Taboo Muskoka is a privately owned Resort in Gravenhurst, Ontario whose mandate is to 'Create happiness by offering incredible Muskoka experiences to our guests and team.' The Recreation Team plays a key role in creating those incredible experiences.
Our Recreation Department is looking for Recreation Attendants to help do exactly that! Promoting a fun and relaxing environment, you will lead guest events/activities (adult and children) including nature walks, bon fires, canoe/kayak trips etc.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Encourage, recruit, register and schedule guests to participate in recreation activities.
- Possesses thorough knowledge of all dates, times, pricing and descriptions of all resort activities, events offered, as well as those of off property.
- Promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere and communicate applicable rules and regulations.
- Support and facilitate recreation programming including hiking, mountain biking, boat rentals, crafts, sports & games, daily bonfires, archery, axe throwing, kids programming etc.
- Possess a clear understanding of all operations and procedures that take place at the Recreation/Adventure Centre desk, including but not limited to taking and verifying guest activity reservations, issuing and filing liability waivers, verifying guest room and other guest information.
- Carries out and supports maintenance of recreation areas such as the beach, trails, pools, firewood, equipment, courts etc.
- Collecting used/soiled pool and beach towels.
- Folding and replenishing clean pool and beach towels.
- Ability to clearly understand resort trails and locations.
- Ability to clearly understand and perform credit/debit transactions.
- Promote and sell retail items.
- Ability to effectively to record and distribute departmental communication to other resort outlets, specifically Front desk/guest services.
- Opens and closes the recreation buildings and program spaces.
- Cleaning recreation areas and keeping equipment organized.
- Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and the public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.
- Inspects and performs light maintenance.
- Performs related duties as assigned or apparent.
REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills)
- Valid Ontario G2/G class Driver’s License (preference).
- Completion of high school or equivalent – Minimum age 16.
- Dynamic and positive personality interested in working with families with young children.
- Previous guest service experience an asset.
- Experience in handling cash, credit and debit transactions
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/REQUIREMENTS
- Indoor and outdoor environments: Trails, water, heat, cold, dirt, bugs, rain.
- Depending on the day and weather conditions of the job will change, long exposure isn’t consistent but at times is needed.
- Ability to lift upwards of 50 pounds, carrying ice buckets or stumps of wood. This would be less than 20% of the time. Most lifting is with another person and transport is usually done by golf cart.
- Ability to lead and participate in physical activities, such as, but not limited to hiking, biking, tennis.
- Bending, twisting, crouching, using hand, arm, leg, and back muscles for cleaning, folding towels and distributing rental equipment.
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal (full-time hours available)
Start/Contract Dates: Varied between May & June 2026 – Contract flexibility from May 2026 to October 2026
Pay: $17.60 - $18.50 per hour
