We are seeking a talented and experienced Communication Manager to join our Team in Toronto for a 1 year Contract
The purpose of this role is to develop and execute impactful communication strategies that build the Great Gulf brand, enhance organizational culture, and drive employee engagement — with every program aligned to Great Gulf’s strategic objectives. This includes creating clear and concise messaging across multiple channels for employees, shareholders, and strategic advisors, as well as external communications that strengthen brand reputation, support media and PR initiatives, and reinforce Great Gulf’s market positioning. Responsibilities also involve managing employer branding, collaborating with stakeholders for insights, analyzing communication effectiveness, and continuously refining the program to promote a transparent and integrated organizational culture — keeping everyone well-informed, aligned, and connected to our shared purpose.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Creation & Channel Management
- Create and manage content across internal and external digital channels — including The Great Room (intranet), email, content screens, newsletters, corporate campaigns, investor decks, and PR materials.
- Lead employer brand strategy and content in partnership with HR, including storytelling, photography, and creative assets for internal and external use.
- Ensure brand consistency across all communications by aligning tone, visuals, and messaging with established guidelines and content pillars.
- Collaborate with IT to support the backend functionality and ongoing maintenance of digital communication platforms.
- Oversee the implementation and governance of a digital asset management system to ensure efficient content organization and accessibility.
Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute communication strategies that align with Great Gulf’s business objectives, values, and culture.
- Craft core messages and prepare scorecards for leadership to share with shareholders and strategic advisors.
- Engage with stakeholders across the business to gather insights and feedback, ensuring communications are inclusive, relevant, and strategically grounded.
- Prepare and implement crisis communication plans to ensure timely, accurate, and transparent messaging during emergencies.
- Develop and oversee change management communications, including workback schedules and rollout plans, to support employee alignment during transitions.
- Support award submissions, speaking opportunities, and thought leadership initiatives to elevate Great Gulf’s external reputation and executive profile.
Engagement & Culture
- Develop and implement content programs that foster employee engagement, deepen cultural alignment, and connect employees to Great Gulf’s mission.
- Support internal events and employee initiatives such as Town Halls, ERGs, and recognition programs to drive a strong, connected culture.
- Collaborate with HR and leadership to highlight employee achievements and support the delivery of timely, relevant HR communications.
- Create internal announcements on organizational updates, milestones, and initiatives to ensure transparency and buy-in.
Measurement & Optimization
- Analyze communication effectiveness using engagement metrics, surveys, and qualitative feedback to inform continuous improvement.
- Develop monthly scorecards to track communications performance and share key insights with leadership.
- Use data to refine content strategies, channels, and messaging for greater clarity, reach, and resonance.

- This position requires strong and effective communication with both internal and external contacts via email, telephone, or in person. A friendly, positive, and professional manner is required during all interactions with stakeholders.

- Capable of developing and executing communication plans that drive business outcomes.

- Working hours during the day Monday to Friday.
