GENERAL MAINTENANCE ATTENDANT

 

Are you fit, handy, and want to turn the 'honey do list' into a paid position?!  Taboo Muskoka is looking for someone over 25 with a valid driver's licence (who can drive our vehicles) to be responsible for garbage removal, minor preventative maintenance and respond to guest maintenance requests (i.e light bulb changes).


This position is full time, permanent and year round with benefits, vacation and paid sick days!  Staff Housing Available!!

KEY SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Daily garbage pick up and removal around the resort
  • Clearing snow from pathways
  • Respond to guest room calls related to minor maintenance requests i.e. changing light bulbs, fix door handles, tightening loose fixings and basic plumbing.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance throughout resort inc some painting
  • Assist other departments and team members as required;
  • Accurate record keeping on assigned tasks as required;
  • Ensuring health and safety, fire safety standards are met and/or exceeded with respect to equipment and facilities. Bringing any risks or contraventions to the attention of the supervisor.
  • Operate and know functionality of Fire Panel;
  • Assist with above tasks as required.
  • Health & Safety conscious, document and report all concerns, accidents, and incidents to immediate supervisor for follow up and take appropriate action
  • Read and adhere to the Employee Handbook Guidelines, Policies, and procedures
  • Embody and uphold Taboo Muskoka brand standards
  • Other duties as assigned

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills)

  • Valid Ontario “G” class license minimum.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing in the English language
  • Experience in a similar setting within the hospitality industry an asset.
  • Basic Word, Excel and Outlook ability an asset.
  • Ability to deal with guests in a positive, professional, courteous and tactful manner.

 

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/REQUIREMENTS

  • outdoors or in extreme cool or warm environments in inclement weather, pickup truck, some challenging spaces due to topography of the resort.
  • Lifting (up to 50 pounds) when doing garbage pick up
  • Twisting, bending, walking up and down stairs, moving up and down ladders, swimming or in water, carrying heavy items to different locations, garbage pickup.
  • Frequent working around dust and insulation wearing PPE, the possibility of working outside in inclement weather on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions
  • Lifting (up to 50 pounds), twisting, bending, walking up and down stairs, shoveling snow, moving up and down ladders, swimming or in water, carrying heavy items to different locations.
