Are you a ‘behind the scenes’ kind of person?  You like customer service but would prefer to do it over the phone than face to face?  We’re looking for a Switchboard Operator who is a creative problem solver with exceptional customer service skills.    If this sounds like you, come work & play in beautiful Muskoka this summer!

As Taboo Muskoka ambassadors, our Switchboard Operators are answering calls & responding to guest questions and suggestions.  We’re looking for someone to provide guests with professional and superior guest service, assist in resolving guest concerns and work/communicate with other colleagues in the Front Office and throughout the Resort.

KEY SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • To courteously and efficiently respond to and act upon all telephone calls, both from within the property and from outside the premises.
  • To take immediate and positive action in the event of an emergency situation.
  • Accept, record, store and relay telephone messages for guests or staff members.
  • Analytical skills, highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. Accurately processing and distributing all guest messages, guest wake up calls and all incoming faxes.
  • Communication – 100 % fluency in English - verbal and written communication.
  • Responds promptly and reasonably when making decisions, ultimately ensuring successful problem resolution.
  • Sets a positive example and fulfills responsibilities with the highest integrity, ethics and professionalism.
  • Fully competent with current Windows based programs, MS Office Products (Word/Excel/Access/Outlook/Power Point/Project), hotel reservations systems, sales contact management systems.
  • Ability to learn and convey Taboo Muskoka service offerings, stay up to date and convey information in a clear, easy to understand way.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time in front of computer and answering the telephone throughout shift.
