SUMMARY

The Junior Accountant will support a variety of accounting and finance duties.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • General accounting and finance support including, but not limited to data management, basic accounting entries, office administration, full accounting work for small/simple entities
  • Process invoices for payment in (Accounts Payable)
  • Prepare weekly bank deposits; book charges and deposits (Accounts Receivable)
  • Posting journal entries
  • Intercompany reconciliations
  • Performing other related duties, as assigned

    COMMUNICATION/INFLUENCING OTHERS

     

    This role works within several functions of our accounting team, including working with our corporate accounting director and hi rise accounting director (and their respective teams).

     

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS

     

    • Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting or similar in progress or completed
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
    • Familiar with basic accounting procedures and programs (Microsoft Navision experience is a plus)
    • Excellent analytical and trouble shooting skills
    • Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize work under tight deadlines
    • A self-starter with the initiative to learn and grow

     

    PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

    This role will be working 100% from home during pandemic time, once we return to the office, the roll will be 100% from the office with the possibility for hybrid as appropriate

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Able to be seated for long periods of time in front of a computer screen. Able to sort, file, and print documents when necessary.
