SSRS Report Writer/Analyst

SUMMARY

We are currently looking for an SSRS Report Writer who has a proven track record of creating valuable reports, datasets and visualizations, primarily in SSRS.  They will be responsible for creating, editing, maintaining reports in SSRS.  The successful candidate should be able to start with requirement gathering and end with a finished report.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to identify needs and opportunities for improved data management and delivery
  • Meet with stakeholders to gather requirements
  • Ability to write efficient SQL code for complex queries
  • Create views and stored procedures
  • Create, maintain, edit and publish reports to SSRS
  • Test and validate reports to ensure accuracy
  • Assist end users with reporting related issues and questions

COMMUNICATION/INFLUENCING OTHERS

The Report Writer role will work with various stakeholders across multiple departments within the organization.  They will also work closely with the Infrastructure team and the Business Analyst group.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years experience of SSRS Report Writing
  • In depth knowledge and experience working with SSRS
  • Experience writing SQL queries
  • Knowledge of MS SQL, Postgres and My SQL
  • Experience in the construction industry would be an asset
  • Working knowledge of Newstar would be an asset
  • Strong analytic skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills along with excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, and ability to proactively identify opportunities and quickly implement solutions in a positive and professional manner

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

This position is a desk job.  The applicant will have the choice of working from the office at 351 King St East, Toronto, or working from home with the occasional day at the office.
