SUMMARY

 

The Corporate Accountant will perform a variety of accounting and analytical functions with a strong focus on financial and tax reporting for multiple Canadian holding entities. This position is responsible to prepare tax returns, working papers and financial statements for various holding entities. The ideal candidate for this role will ideally have a strong accounting and taxation background with strong attention to detail and familiarity with various reporting standards. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • General accounting and finance support including, but not limited to: document filing, data management, basic accounting entries, office administration
  • Process invoices for payment in (Accounts Payable)
  • Prepare weekly bank deposits; book charges and deposits (Accounts Receivable)
  • Filing of the AP and AR back up
  • Posting journal entries
  • Intercompany reconciliations

             

COMMUNICATION/INFLUENCING OTHERS

 

  • This role works in a tight knit Accounting team of 25 people. There is constant and on-going communication among the core members of the low-rise team as well as with the broader accounting team and many other key business units including Finance and Land Development as well as to our owners and other key stakeholders directly.

 

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

 

  • This person will split their time between two offices. 3x working out of our Uptown Office and 1x Downtown Office and one day from home.
