Intermediate Civil/Architectural Technologist
Are you a Civil and/or Architectural Technologist who is articulate, passionate and a persuasive communicator? Homecad Plan Design Inc., subsidiary of Great Gulf, award winning home builder, is looking for you to join our Draft Design team to work on siting and grading for multi-unit, low rise, large scale (area) residential developments. Our ideal candidate is a professional with incredible attention to detail, problem solving skills and the ability to multi-task.
Applicants must have;
- Min 5 yrs site grading and planning for residential lots and large scale developments in the GTA
- Demonstrated experience with all municipal bylaws in the GTA area as related to planning including architectural control
- Experience with municipal engineering requirements in the GTA as related to site grading

•Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and project managers in the preparation of drawing packages, site design concepts, sketches, and calculations
•Use CAD software to prepare drawings in accordance with project CAD standards
•Assist with redlines/revisions for in-progress and completed site plan designs
•Support with the analysis and determining appropriate solutions of design issues
•Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current Municipal bylaws and engineering standards as well as requirements of other reviewing agencies such as Conservation Authorities and Architectural Control
•Self-motivated individual possessing strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
•Ability to prioritize deadlines, track status and facilitate progress on multiple projects
•Preparation of detail drawings, sections and details as related to site grading and building placement on lot for multi-unit low-rise developments
•Coordination of work with other disciplines;
•Interpreting site design sketches and providing as-builts site grading drawings;
•Producing lot grading drawings in accordance with overall site development engineering;
•Other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills)
We are looking for either a Architectural Technologist or Civil Technologist with
•5 yrs min experience in preparing site grading drawings
•Experience with low-rise wood construction systems and related detailing and construction documents
•Must be able to work in Autocad and/or Revit
•Experience with Sketchup and other related software beneficial.
•Working knowledge of bylaws and standards of regional municipalities.
•Requires attention to detail
•Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
•Articulate, passionate and persuasive communicator with the ability to convey design concepts to other team members and consultants
•Effective interpersonal and excellent problem-solving skills
•Effective time management and multi tasking skills
